This season of the screen at Contemporary we travel across the north, the south, the byways, highways, cities and suburbs to explore the other, the outsider, the misfit and the loner of American Cinema. Join us.
The ultimate outsiders movie. Two lost souls, played to perfection by Jon Voight and Dustin Hoffman, struggle to survive in New York City. Part of the American New Wave of the late 1960s, the film caused controversy on release; today it remains a sensitive but unsentimental portrayal of those on the sidelines of society.
Weekday Cross Address
Nottingham Contemporary is fully accessible for visitors with disabilities from the main entrance on Weekday Cross. The main gallery, small collections room and shop are all on street level with access to the Cafe.Bar.Contemporary and The Space available via an internal lift.
The Nottingham Contemporary is one of the best connected art centres in the country with links to all major transport routes. The gallery is next to the Lace Market Tram Stop, five minutes from Nottingham Rail Station and the Green NCT bus routes and is only a few minutes walk from the city centre and Broadmarsh Shopping Centre. It's one of the country's easiest galleries to get to. You can't miss the green and gold building opposite the Weekday Cross monument.
